AU Name: James T. Kirk
AU Age: 20
Physical Differences: None. He does have a mask that makes him look a little older, he's not sure why but he think it's because of Edgin.
AU History: (CW: child abuse and neglect, famine, cullings) Child of a poor family in the Blue Court's lands, James has known the horrors of night terrors his entire life. He never knew his father who sacrificed himself for his pregnant wife in the finding. His mother didn't take it well and has been rather absent his entire life, neglectful in her raising of him, and treating him poorly as she blames him for her losing her chance to join courts.
For much of his life, Kirk hated the courts, despised them for what they took away from him, for the way they made his brother a thrall. Yet he still got overlooked. His village went through a terrible famine that caused people to resort to terrible things and cullings to see what stores of food they did have could last. Kirk was meant to be culled but escaped and survived in the woods by any means necessary with a handful of other kids.
His life has been full of hardships and survival, but when a vampire, Edgin, took a special interest in Kirk, he took the chance to become something better, greater. If he can't beat the courts, he could join them, to not live in the shadow of his father or mother's misery any longer.
He took it as a personal challenge to excel at the very thing he hated, to become a greater than his father and mother. To be free of them by being more than them. So in his first season, he excelled at all his course, taking the maximum number of classes, all while looking like he was barely applying himself. Looking like he was sleeping around and slacking off, but spending his days also hitting the grind stone and excelling in a way that only a genius of his caliber could.
Now he's in his second season and is a cocky little shit. He excels in all his courses because he applies himself, all while looking like he's doing jack shit. It's really annoying.
AU Personality: Kirk is closer to his Mirror counterpart than he is to his original self. He's much more manipulative, cunning, driven, ruthless, and willing to step on and use anyone he can to get where he needs to go without remorse. His childhood made him more selfish and risk taking, always willing to step up and take on something to survive til the next day, not regretting if that step up was stepping on someone or placing a blade between shoulders. He thinks that relationships are messy and weakness, it's easier to use someone than allow yourself to be vulnerable to being used, not wanting to be like his mother who became weak and useless because her husband and dreams were taken from her.
Since coming to the school, he finds that these things work for him, they allow him to blend in better with Vampire society and get a leg up on his other students. He masks all this by being very charming. The setting has definitely harkened to his worse self rather than his better self, something that he had the potential for at the start of his original canon.

He likes to revel and celebrate and have a good time, he is the kind of guy to have a good time at every chance he gets. But I plan for him to get poached to Gold because he is a natural born leader and very capable at it, also his AU self would have no issues with Thralls and see it as a useful tool to manipulate and mind read. On top of being a natural born leader, Kirk is good at decision making, he doesn't believe in no-win scenarios, nor does he believe in giving up, he knows how to get people to follow him even in his most crazy schemes and guide them through dangerous situations. He has a mind for strategy, using people to their full potential, and drawing out loyalty from others.
